HOPE: Healthy Options Prepare 2 Eat

A 6 Week Programme

  • Budgeting
  • Healthy eating messages on reducing salt, fat, sugar as well as 5 a day
  • Balance of good health
  • How to adapt recipes
  • Meal planning and budgeting
  • Opportunities to taste new foods
  • Increases the participants’ confidence in their cooking skills
  • Lead to positive changes in consumption of key food groups (e.g. type of bread, milk, spread used, amount of salt used)
  • Increases participants knowledge of key healthy eating messages (e.g. 5 A day)

BODY SCAN: Self Care

A 6 Week Programme

Main objective: to Increase self-esteem, physical activity levels, reduce stress, better nutritional intake and reduced GP admissions.

  • 6 week programme that has been designed and developed to motivate and empower participants to promote self-care approaches that will help improve lifestyle and lead to positive health behaviours.
  • The short activities and discussions will help apply new learning to one’s own personal experience, helping short term conditions and minor health problems easier to handle making individuals more confident in completing tasks

WEIGHT OFF: Behaviour Change Programme

An 8 Week Programme

Main objective: To reduce health inequalities and mortality and morbidity from lifestyle related illnesses by targeting those most in need

8-week programme not a quick-fix diet but a long-term solution. Losing just 5% of your body weight can significantly reduce your risk of heart disease, strokes and some cancers.

  • The above weight management programme will support individuals to manage their weight and lead a healthier lifestyle. Any weight loss is a big achievement but most importantly part of the programme is making the right changes for you.

Seed 2 Pot

A 6 Week Programme

Main objectve: To introduce individuals to the benefits of growing some of their own ingredients at home or in a community setting.

6-week programme to increase participants skills and confidence to grow, prepare and cook meals with using both fresh and store cupboard ingredients.

  • To discuss the functions of specific food groups within the body and increase knowledge of basic healthy eating message also to incorporate other lifestyle messages related to Health and Wellbeing as appropriate.

Aerobics, Chairbased, Meditation

Low level intensity workouts aimed at people across the borough wishing to get fitter without the worry of joining an established gym.
